Muslim veils.

I've had time now to digest the recent discussions and conversations regarding the wearing of veils. I believe that these veils should be worn in the home ie; in private area's. Out in the real world the rights of the majority should be considered. Is the person behind the veil female or male? A threat or not? I believe then, that the veil should not be used as a religious tool, it is simply the choice of the individual to segregate themselves, not of their religion. When I hear other emminent Muslim leaders saying there is no need for the veil, it makes me believe that even their "own" people believe that it is a barrier to a full and open society.
There is a definate perceived threat now the war-mad lunatic in the Shitehouse of America has openly stated he talks to God before making any decisions! Again, this opens up a new discussion, can you trust a man who asks the opinion of someone of who there is not full, complete proof of existance?
The poodle that is Blair has also opened up the possibility of attacks on the UK due to diligently following the lunatic. I would never vote for any other political parties but Blair is pushing the right thinking person against the Party of the people.

6 days until Lanzarote.

We are now in the final run in to our 4 day visit to Lanzarote. We have arranged to meet Simona our Romanian friend at the restaurant she now works at in Puerto Calero. We also have a long list of restaurants and bars to visit for the wide variety of food that is available. Mar Casa Benito for fantastic fish dishes, Las Arenas for our usual friendly staff and Bar Limon in Arrecife for our snack in the day.
We are also lucky as we have a Spanish bank account that we can get € currency from so we don't get charged any exchange rate charges etc.
I'm slowly feeling the relaxation building.

Visit to my homeland.

I've taken the plunge and booked a short 4 day trip to Lanzarote. This will really cheer me (and Julie) up. We need a break. I'm ok with Worst Group getting rid of me but peeved (p@ssed off) at being out of work. I've been unemployed for 4, now 4.5 months, in my entire life. It's hard to take but at least this break is partly funded by my dismissal.

We have already contacted people to let them know of our arrival, this is the start of our new life. The dream is now real!

Next Week

This is hard, my heart says go for it but my more thoughtful side says I need to be 100% prepared. I'm only about 95% at the moment. I have some important (to me) info that I still need to confirm so I believe it will be better to stay in the UK until my Holiday. That way everything, apart from the accomodation, will be in place. That would leave us free for a quick return to Lanzarote after we tie up the lose ends.

I'm considering going for a part time job or something. This constant travelling and visiting is tiring me out. Think I need a rest!

This is hard work

Do I? Or don't I? I really am unsure about whether to take the Finca on a 6 month lease. It would mean a move to Lanzarote within the next couple of weeks so the airfares may be a bit steep due to lack of notice. I have nothing planned so that decision is made.
The booked holiday is the main problem, it's been booked for months and the airfares are non-refundable.

Manchester-London-Madrid
Seville-Lanzarote
Lanzarote-Madrid
Madrid-London-Manchester

This in itself would cost a fair amount of money.

Could I re-let the property for a month? Would still need extra airfare to return to the UK to then return to Lanzarote for my "holiday".

The hotels are pay as you leave with no penalty charges for cancellation.

€680 per month to include all bills, 2 bedroomed Finca ........

Decisions, Decisions!
